Programming Event #5
January through April 2024 -
First Year Student Review Sessions for MIE 201 and ACC 210
One of the Peer Leaders' primary goals is to provide academic support and guidance to first-year and transfer students within The Poole College of Management. Having strong relationships with Professors Missy Makanui who currently teaches MIE 201 and Bruce Branson, the instructor for ACC 210, the Peer Leaders hosted monthly review sessions for first-year and transfer students to study for each of their exams in these courses.
Here, students participated in Jeopardy Games, witnessed problems solved in live time by their TAs, and practiced in groups for their exams. They also solved real problems provided to the Peer Leaders by their professors, directly from previous tests. Overall, these review sessions reached over 650 students from October to December 2022 in Nelson 3400.
